On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the International Scientific Committee, I would like to welcome you to the beautiful campus of Stanford University, site of the 2015 edition of the Engineering Mechanics Institute Conference. The theme of the Conference is "Computation for Sustainable Urban Systems," which encompasses the mechanics as well as all aspects of computation that foster the spirit of sustainability. This year marks the completion of the new Science and Engineering Quad (SEQ), the modern version of and overlooking the historic Main Quad. It is only fitting that all sessions of the Conference will be held within and around SEQ.
Enjoy the nice facilities, blue skies, relaxing atmosphere, and cool weather of the Bay Area, and once again, WELCOME!
